Rory Gallagher, one of the most celebrated guitarists of all time, is set to make a rare appearance at the Manchester Apollo on November 12th. The Irish blues-rock icon will be performing a career-spanning set that is sure to delight fans old and new.
Gallagher first rose to fame in the late 1960s as the frontman of the band Taste. The group released two critically acclaimed albums before disbanding in 1970. Gallagher then embarked on a successful solo career, releasing a string of hit albums throughout the 1970s and 1980s.
Gallagher is known for his blistering guitar playing and soulful vocals. He has been cited as an influence by countless guitarists, including Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, and Jimmy Page. In a 2011 poll by Rolling Stone magazine, Gallagher was ranked as the 43rd greatest guitarist of all time.
